RockResorts Innovative Program to Recycle Hotel Soap

High in the Colorado Rockies a life-saving necessity is making its way to the island nation of Haiti and abroad. By partnering with Clean the World, Inc., RockResorts is collecting barely-used soap and shampoo from its collection of 8 hotels and enabling the Orlando charity to provide the much-needed supplies to needy people in homeless shelters and impoverished countries around the world.

Nearly 600 Massage Envy Clinics to Host Massage for the Cure on 09-15-09

On Tuesday, September 15, 2009, Massage Envy, the nation's largest massage therapy provider, will team up with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to help win the fight against breast cancer by hosting Massage for the Cure. During this one-day event, nearly 600 Massage Envy clinics nationwide will offer $35 one-hour massage therapy sessions, with $10 from each massage directly benefiting the local Affiliates of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Additional donations will also be accepted, and all proceeds collected will go directly into local community outreach programs supporting breast health education and awareness.

It’s never too late for a day at the spa.   Female residents of Good Shepherd Health Center found that out Monday at the nursing home’s Spa Day. “Oh, it’s wonderful,” said 96-year-old Grace Chamberlain. “This is something altogether different than what I ever heard about. When I heard ‘spa,’ I thought of exercise. And I don’t need any more of that.”

A Ohio based salon spa,  Bajon Salon & Spa of West Chester, is looking to makeover a deserving local resident.  The $300 makeover will be performed in mid-December and includes a haircut, hair color, hair style, make-up application, manicure and pedicure. The makeover recipient will be selected by Bajon Salon team members from entries received at Bajon Salon now through Nov. 30. Entries must include a picture (head shot) and a short essay (300 words or less) of why the nominated person needs or deserves the makeover.
